Fortunately, the side for truth, reason and academic/scientific integrity was also out in full force with outstanding testimony by scientists, educators and legal experts of our own.
It is vital that pastors and laymen all over Texas take the following steps TODAY if we want to have an impact and counter the pressure that has come from all over the nation. This vote will set direction in Texas and the nation for at least the next ten years as to whether our children will be indoctrinated with one side of a failed theory or not!
WHAT YOU CAN DO:
· Pray about this important matter.
· Email, fax and call each of the following 8 members, and ask your friends to do the same.
· Send a single email to asking the entire Board to keep the phrase "strengths and weaknesses" in the rule.
· Call the main number of the State Board of Education (512.463.9007 or 512.463.9734) and ask the receptionist to pass along to the Board that you would like the Board to keep the "strengths and weaknesses" language. Also send a fax (512.936.4319) to the State Board of Education to ask the Board to keep the "strengths and weaknesses" language.
· Forward this email and add your own personal introductory note asking your friends to get involved by emailing, faxing and making calls to these 8 Board members.
The following State Board members voted against “strengths and weaknesses” (each member's phone, fax and email are in parentheses) on the first round. Please call, fax and email each of these Board members and ask them to vote to keep the “strengths and weaknesses” language that has been the Texas rule for decades:
