Stop Taxpayer Funded So-Called “Recovery!!â€

In the revised edition of my newest book, Enough is Enough, I wrote the following:
Now we stand on the brink as secular humanists seek to reshape America to reflect their godless worldview that sees man as his own savior and sees God as a crutch for weaklings. Mussolini in Italy, Lenin in Russia, Hitler in Germany, and Castro in Cuba, while worlds apart in their political theories, had one thing in common; they believed they could use the power of the state to perfect a utopian society. They believed it so strongly that they finally resorted to using any means necessary to accomplish their goals.
Jonah Goldberg documents in his best-selling book, Liberal Fascism, how liberals need a crisis to in order to push their agenda forward, whether it’s a declared war on poverty or a real war. During a perceived or real crisis people make decisions that reflect the seriousness of their situation. Christians have the wonderful advantage of calling on an all-sufficient Creator to provide guidance through the crisis. Crisis can force us to a place of fully placing all of our trust in God and God alone.
Unfortunately, most people in America no longer turn to God first but rather government as their source and provider which makes them vulnerable to exploitation.
Former Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson, who was given god-like powers to dispense the first Federal bailout which we now know did not work, made a dire prediction that the current financial meltdown could become “so extreme that martial law may have to be imposed on the American people.” This was an ominous warning granting the government almost unlimited power to impose the will of those in charge.
This week the House of Representatives presented its version of the major economic stimulus bill, H.R.1, otherwise known as the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009. The Senate is considering its own version (S.1), expecting the completed bill to be signed by Obama by mid-February. One version of the bill contains over six hundred pages of promises to preserve and create jobs; invest in our national infrastructure, decrease unemployment; and stabilize our local and state economies. But as always, the devil is in the details and the more we learn of what’s in the fine print, the more convinced I become that WE THE PEOPLE MUST SEE THAT THIS BILL NEVER BECOMES LAW!!!

The House Minority Leader’s office released the following on Monday:
Whether we like it or not, as tax-payers we are being required to pay for “family planning” options, no matter what our convictions may be. Additionally, Section 5004 of H.R. 1 creates an entirely new category for Medicaid which no longer requires applicants to show proof of eligibility upon enrollment. So not only are taxpayers being asked to pay for services that we may be righteously opposed to, but the services are for people who may not even need the financial assistance in the first place!
It is obvious that Democrats are interested in promoting an agenda that goes beyond the economy and the recession. If we don’t wisely pay attention to the details, it will happen!!
TOP 20 FAST FACTS ABOUT THE HOUSE DEMOCRATS’ TRILLION DOLLAR SPENDING PLAN
1) The $825 billion package slated for a House vote later this week will exceed more than $1.1 trillion when adding in the interest ($300 plus billion) between 2009-2019 to pay for it.
2) The Capitol Hill Democrats’ plan includes funding for contraceptives, regardless of where anyone stands on taxpayer funded contraception, there is no question that it has NOTHING to do with the economy. (Since Monday this idiocy has been removed -- due to bi-partisan outcry!)
3) The legislation could open billions of taxpayer dollars to left-wing groups like the Association of Community Organization for Reform Now (ACORN), which has been accused of voter fraud, is reportedly under federal investigation; and played a key role in the housing meltdown. (NOTE: we have discovered that ACORN will recieve over 4 billion dollar!)
4) Here are just a few of the programs and projects that have been included in the House Democrats’ proposal:
· $650 million for digital TV coupons;
· $600 million for new cars for the federal government;
· $6 billion for colleges/universities
· $50 million in funding for the National Endowment of the Arts;
· $44 million to repair the U.S. Department of Agriculture
headquarters;
· $200 million for the National Mall, including $21 million for
sod!
5) The plan establishes at least 32 new government programs at a cost of over $136 billion. That means more than a third of this plan’s spending provisions are dedicated to creating new government programs.
6) The plan provides spending in at least 150 different federal programs, ranging from Amtrak to the Transportation Security Administration. Is this the “targeted” plan Democratic leaders promised?
7) Even though the legislation contains at least 152 separate spending proposals, the authors of the plan can only say that 34 have any chance at keeping or growing jobs.
8) Just one in seven dollars of an $18.5 billion expenditure on “energy efficiency” and “renewable energy programs” would be spent within the next 18 months.
9) The total cost of this one piece of legislation is almost as much as the annual discretionary budget for the entire federal government.
10) House Democrats’ bill will cost each and every household $6,700 in additional debt, paid for by our children and grandchildren.
11) The bill provides enough spending – $825 billion – to give every man, woman, and child in America $2,700. $825 billion is enough to give every person in Ohio $72,000.
12) $825 billion is enough to give every person living in poverty in the United States $22,000.
13) Although the House Democrats’ proposal has been billed as a transportation and infrastructure investment package, in actuality only $30 billion of the bill – or three percent – is for road and highway spending. A recent study from the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office found that only 25 percent of infrastructure dollars can be spent in the first year, making the one year total less than $7 billion.
14) Much of the funding within the House Democrats’ proposal will go to programs that already have large, unexpended balances. For example, the bill provides $1 billion for Community Development Block Grants (CDBG) – a program that already has $16 billion on hand. States also are sitting on some $9 billion in unused highway funds – funds that Congress is prepared to rescind later this year.
15) All board members of the “Accountability and Transparency Board” created by this legislation are appointees of the President; none will be appointed by Congress.
16) A scant 2.7 percent, or $22.3 billion of the overall package, is dedicated to small business tax relief.
17) The Joint Committee on Taxation estimates that the legislation increases by seven million the number of people who get a check back from the IRS that exceeds what they paid in payroll and income taxes.
18) The “Making Work Pay” tax credit at the center of the plan amounts to $1.37 a day, or about the price of a cup of coffee.
19) Almost one-third of the so-called “tax relief” in the House Democrats’ bill is spending in disguise, meaning that true tax relief makes up only 24 percent of the total package – not the 40 percent that President Obama had requested.
20) $825 billion is just the beginning – many Capitol Hill Democrats want to spend even more taxpayer dollars on their “stimulus” plan. In fact, the Chairman of the House Appropriations Committee, Rep. David Obey (D-WI), told Roll Call earlier this month, “I would not be surprised to see us go further on some of these programs down the line.”

H.R. 1 proposes an investment totaling $825 billion into our struggling economy. Republicans are up-in-arms over the hundreds of millions designated to programs that involve family planning. It is no secret that Barack Obama is a supporter of abortion and preserving and protecting the “right” of a woman to choose whether her unborn child lives or dies. H.R. 1 pushes for taxpayers to fund contraceptives through Medicaid. Specifically, it says “…medical assistance shall be limited to family planning services and supplies described in 1905(a)(4)(C) and, at the State’s option, medical diagnosis and treatment services that are provided in conjunction with a family planning service.” This means that Medicaid will pay for contraceptives, at the same time it will no longer be required to obtain federal permission to offer family-planning services!

Friends, this is not “Change we can believe in,” unless we suspend our belief that God granted every man the unalienable right to “the pursuit of happiness.” We must STOP this madness by uniting our voices in opposition to this insanity NOW.

3.) Print this copy and pass it around at church and other places where normal working class Americans gather. Polling data reveals that there is growing bipartisan understanding that we cannot spend our way out of the current financial crisis. Especially with borrowed money!
4.) Demand that Congress pass substantial tax cuts for tax paying citizens which will immediately impact the economy without empowering politicians and lobbyists.
