Obama Says "NO!" to Having Czars Appear Before the Senate

And you thought it couldn't get any worse! Now we have proof that the Obama Administration intends to do an end run around the US Constitution.
In the course of U.S. history, there has never been an administration more arrogant, dictatorial and willing to flout the Constitution than that of President Barack Hussein Obama.
The White House just told Capitol Hill that it would not allow czars who weren't confirmed by the Senate to testify before Congress. But these are the very officials who should - indeed, who must - testify.
Sen. Susan Collins of Maine, one of the most liberal Republicans in the Senate, said White House Counsel Greg Craig told her that czars working out of the White House (who didn't go through the confirmation process) would not give testimony.

The administration claims that these czars are "presidential advisors" - historically exempt from testifying - unlike those in policymaking positions. In reality, all of the czars have enormous power and huge budgets - power they are using to bypass Congress and remake the country.
And they must be held accountable. Will you help me call then to account?
Collins explains: "I think Congress should be able to call Carol Browner (the president's climate, energy and environment czar), to ask her about the negotiations she conducted with the automobile industry that led to very significant policy changes with regard to emission standards."
If President Obama isn't challenged here, it will encourage him to appoint even more czars who aren't confirmed by the Senate, which will both insulate them from the scrutiny of confirmation hearings and keep Congress in the dark about their operations and opinions.
Given what we already know about various czars, it's understandable that the president wouldn't want them to appear before a congressional committee - even with his party firmly in control of Congress. Their extreme leftist ideology borders on Marxism. To say their views are out of the mainstream of American thought would be an understatement.
Regulatory Czar Cass Sunstein is one of the few who did go through the confirmation process. Still, he represents the collectivist/anti-Judeo-Christian mindset of all too many of these officials. He is an animal rights activist and gun-grabber, who would like to control the Internet.
In a 2008 book, Sunstein called for the state to stop issuing marriage licenses. In the ironically named "Nudge: Improving Decisions about Health, Wealth and Happiness," the former law professor and his co-author wrote: "Official marriage licenses also have the unfortunate consequence of dividing the world into the status of those who are 'married' and those who are 'single' in a way that produces serious economic and material disadvantages."
And so it should be.
Besides being divinely ordained, marriage strengthens the community and the nation. Married couples are more productive, healthier, have more children and are less prone to crime and other vices.
But for radical egalitarians like Sunstein, that doesn't mean they should enjoy any special status. I happen to think that God knows better than an unelected Czar on the subject of marriage.
Disregarding the Constitution, this President has made it clear he will refuse to allow his unconfirmed czars who are powerful and dangerous, to appear before your elected officials in Congress and answer their questions. Are you content to allow that to happen?
