OBAMA MUST BE TOLD IN NO UNCERTAIN TERMS - THE U.S. WILL NEVER ABANDON ISRAEL!

In a stunning display of rudeness and arrogance, the president of the United States gave the prime minister of Israel the type of White House reception usually afforded a Third World dictator, rather than the elected head of the only true democracy in the Middle East, and America's oldest regional ally.

When he visited the White House last week, the red carpet was definitely rolled up for Binyamin Netanyahu. There was no photo session, no joint press conference and no state dinner.

When Netanyahu wouldn't accede to his demands, the president unceremoniously walked out of a meeting with the prime minister, after announcing that Netanyahu was free to continue conferring with White House aides, who - the president instructed them - were to "let me know if there's anything new."

These were all calculated insults designed to put the Israeli leader in his place. They were also not so subtle pandering to Obama's friends in the Muslim world.

At issue is the Israeli government's announcement that it will allow the construction of 1,600 new housing units in a Jewish neighborhood of Jerusalem's Old City. This did not go down well at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.

Obama has reshaped U.S. policy toward Israel to bring it into line with the United Nations, European Union - and the Palestinian Authority: Jews will not be allowed to build new housing units in the City of David, which Palestinians covet as the capital of their future state.

The president and his allies, including the so-called international community, hold that Jewish construction in certain Jerusalem neighborhoods is an obstacle to peace. In reality, it's the Jewish presence in Tel Aviv and Haifa as much as East Jerusalem and the West Bank (AKA, Judea and Samaria) that poses an "obstacle" to "peace," from the Palestinian perspective.

Obama's diplomatic offensive against Israel is part of his campaign to win support in the Muslim world. Recall his first foreign speech as he was in Istanbul, followed closely by an address in Cairo. Besides spouting the usual nonsense about Islam as a religion of "peace" and "tolerance" - the Coptic Christians of Egypt and Maronite Christians of Lebanon must have been bitterly amused by that -- the president said the Palestinians "right" to Biblical Israel was based on their historical ties to the land, while that of Jews was based on the Holocaust.

There wasn't a word about the continuous Jewish presence in the Holy Land for more than three millennia, God's eternal promise to the Jewish people or the fact that, before the Zionist pioneers arrived in the 19th century, Israel was an empty wasteland.

Ironically, while Barack Obama was dissing Netanyahu, it was revealed that since he assumed the presidency, White House guests have included ex-Weatherman terrorist Bill Ayers (three times), Obama's former preacher Jeremiah ("God da-n America!") Wright, and the most powerful anti-Semite in America, Nation of Islam leader, Louis Farrakhan.

Unlike the leftist element that occupies the White House, the American people remain firm in their support for Israel. Despite a mainstream media saturated with pro-Palestinian propaganda, according to a February Gallup poll, 67% of Americans said they sympathize with the Jewish state, while only 15% favor the Palestinians.

Two-thirds of the members of the House of Representatives recently signed a letter reaffirming "our commitment to the unbreakable bond that exists between our country and the State of Israel and to express to you our deep concern over recent tension."

The bi-partisan letter went on to observe: "The United States and Israel are close allies whose people share a deep and abiding friendship based on a shared commitment to core values including democracy, human rights and freedom of the press and religion. Our two countries are partners in the fight against terrorism and share an important strategic relationship."

Not that any of this will affect the White House. When it comes to heeding the voice of the people, Barack Hussein Obama is stone-deaf.

Help me to send the following message to the people of Israel - "We are with you. Hang in there. This time next year, there will be a new Congress willing to go head to head with this president and his Secretary of State. In 2013, Israel will have a friend in the White House."

You can do that by selecting here to donate $19.48, (significantly, corresponding to the year in which Israel was reborn), which will allow you to send a dozen yellow roses to the prime minister of Israel, to let him know that the American people have not forgotten the promises of the Bible. A note will be attached with "Be encouraged- Americans are standing with you." Ps. 147:2
