My child is surrounded by Obama worshippers

My child is surrounded by Obama worshippers.
My 12 year old daughter is becoming quite a Christian in the face of some trying times. She knows personally the one True God. However, she attends public school and therefore has to battle the regular entourage of questions. These include a stunned "you go to church?" As well as "You voted for McCain"? Not that we had much choice on that one; thank God Palin stepped up to the plate. Then all this is followed by discussions of our origins being from the apes and the continuing and boring mantra on global warming or would that be creation worship? I would be remiss if I did not include the shear idol worship (aka: “the anointed one”) of this man to be president.
As a parent I have been old enough to vote now through several elections. I was glad when the first Bush won. I was depressed and in tears when Clinton won. At that time however, it was due to loosing a competition rather then any substantive issues. Fast forward 8 years to the elections of Bush V Gore. After having seen 8 years of moral depravity including such horrid practices made available as Partial Birth Abortion and watching our president make excuses for his completely inappropriate behavior in the Oval Office as well as the many financial conflicts of interest and a failed impeachment process. It was so terrible and embarrassing that I actually considered moving to another country. I complained for 8 years to everyone including my children and I said few if any prayers that might encourage God to aid him, so honestly I deserved his immoral practices.
Then enter George W. Bush. I knew he was the man that God had chosen for this position. I prayed consistently for him those first years in office. I spoke to and instructed my children about the process both spiritually and politically. I offered more prayers than I can count for this man. He will be missed.
Now my children and I both face a moral dilemma of sorts: Pray for those in authority (I Timothy 2: 1-2), which President Elect Obama is about to become. And pray for our enemies, (Matthew 5:43-45) due to the fact that he opposes all of my beliefs. The word of God directs us to do both. So I shall, even if begrudgingly at times, and I will instruct my children to follow suit, hopefully without the grudge and without complaint. However, when then need arises and it will, we will stand for righteousness! We will not allow complacency to set in and with God’s help we will remain passionate for the cause of Christ in this nation.
