First amendment test case decided today by SCOTUS, 8-1

The Westboro Baptist Church won their case in the Supreme Court today by a vote of 8-1, with the lone dissent coming from Justice Samuel Alito.

This case should remind folks of the hateful speech of a pathetic group of Nazis who took it upon themselves to march right through Skokie, Illinois, chosen by these thugs because they clearly wanted to inflict as much pain and hurt on one of the largest groups of Holocaust survivors to congregate on our free soil.  A federal appeals court in Chicago wrote in the 1977 case, ""If these civil rights are to remain vital for all, they must protect not only those society deems acceptable, but also those whose ideas it quite justifiably rejects and despises."
